Big week ahead and a few emails from NEBONER over the holiday had me craving some afrobeat this morning while brewing some coffee. I popped in the highly spoken about ACADEMY ANNEX RECORDS re-release of the 1974 SJOB MOVEMENT album, ” A MOVE IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION,” and it was exactly what I was looking for. It’s a little more funk soul brother than FELA, but straight outta NIGERIA and heavy weight no doubt. Check out the cut “STONE FUNK” below:
