CHOMP AND STOMP in Cabbagetown was this past Saturday and if you weren’t there, you were probably 1 of 5 people in Atlanta that didn’t make it down. I mean, it was crowded last year, but it was certified bananas this year. We got there bright and early and right around 11am the entire metropolitan area population, and most likely those from several neighboring Atlanta, descended to the streets like CHILI ZOMBIES.
Left: Fridge the night before. Everything you see here was consumed by 1:00pm. Right: Full on CHILI ZOMBIE invasion. We were totally overwhelmed. Beating back the mob and shoving chili in front of them as fast as we could.
Left: AnnieZ politely explaining that ESPERANZA chili is made out of t-shirts. Right: More CHILI ZOMBIES
Left: Lee Starnes, aka Khun Ree, who helped me sling chili for a bit. Right: Hunter, who showed up too late for chili, but in plenty of time for meat on a stick and other festival food greatest hits.
Left: Nate Dog in the park, which resembled Woodstock. Too all those people whose hands I stepped on navigating through this area, I’m sorry, beer makes me wobbly. Right: Eric rocking out as a centaur courtesy of centaur portrait guru Karlo. I’m planning on having this printed on a giant canvas for Eric and Lauren’s wedding present so they can hang it above their bed like A-Rod.
The day was absolutely awesome and I want to thank all our friends who stopped by to help / eat, and all those people who wore ESPERANZA - you guys rule. I wish I had more pics, but the entire thing was so hectic. Next year I think I’m gonna create some kind of CHILI CANNON to blast away the CHILI ZOMBIES so we can hang out with our friends!
